2. In short
You can read this website without giving us your name. If you subscribe to the Horoscope Mystics newsletter, we process your email address and the details you choose to give us in order to send it. The website shows ads through Google AdSense, and we measure, in aggregate, which pages people read. Visitors from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before advertising or measurement cookies are set.
3. Hosting and server logs
The site runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) at edge locations worldwide. Cloudflare processes the IP address, the requested URL, the time, the referrer and the user agent in order to deliver the page and to defend against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in a site that works and is not abused.
4. Newsletter
The newsletter is sent with beehiiv (beehiiv, Inc., USA). When you subscribe, through the form on this site, through one of our signup pages or through a recommendation from another newsletter, we process your email address and, if you provide them, your name, birth date or zodiac sign, together with the date and source of your signup. To see which issues and links interest readers, beehiiv records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. The signup form on this site is loaded from beehiiv, so beehiiv receives your IP address when the form is shown.
Every issue contains an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We keep your address on a suppression list after you unsubscribe so that we do not email you again.
5. Advertising in the newsletter
The newsletter carries advertising, placed directly or through beehiiv's ad network. If you click an ad, the advertiser and the network may learn that the click came from our newsletter. We do not pass your email address to advertisers.
6. Consent management
Visitors from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see Google's consent message before advertising or measurement cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked again on every visit. You can change or withdraw it at any time via „Privacy settings“ in the footer. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.
7. Advertising on this website (Google AdSense)
We show ads on this website through Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to select ads, cap how often you see them, and measure them. If you are in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this happens only with your consent; depending on your choice, ads are personalised or based only on the page you are reading. Google's information: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG; for visitors outside these regions, our interest in financing the site through advertising, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
8. Reach measurement and tag manager
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited, address as above) to see, in aggregate, which pages are read and where visitors come from. For visitors from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are set only if you consent; without consent, Google receives only cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed. For visitors from other regions, Google Analytics uses cookies to tell returning visitors apart. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG where you consent, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
9. Links from our emails
Links in our emails may carry parameters that tell us which issue a visit came from. We use that to see which content works, not to build a profile on you.
10. Email
If you write to us, we process your address and your message in order to answer (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete the correspondence once the matter is settled and no retention period applies.
11. Transfers outside the EEA
Cloudflare, Google and beehiiv are US companies and process data in the USA among other places. Those transfers rely on the EU Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and otherwise on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
12. Retention
Server logs are kept briefly for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised. Subscriber data is kept for as long as you are subscribed; after you unsubscribe, only what is needed to honour the unsubscribe is kept. Consent records are kept as long as they are needed to prove the consent.
13. Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future, for the newsletter simply by unsubscribing. If you live in a US state with its own privacy law, such as California, you can likewise ask to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Write to info@vettius.com. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.
14. Children
This site and the newsletter are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
15. Changes
We update this policy when the site or the newsletter changes. The current version is always on this page.
